Welcome to our second feature in the ‘Anna Mora & Brunella’s Real Women, Real Style Series’
Today, we’ll talk to the beautiful Jilly, a beautiful woman whom Anna Mora & Brunella wishes to celebrate for being super stylish and smart when it comes to style.
Q1. Where are you originally from, and what brought you to Dubai?
I was born in Brisbane, Australia. However, my parents moved to Hobart when I was 9, so I call Hobart home.
I moved to Vienna in my 20s. The company I worked for asked if I would like to relocate to Dubai. So, my husband and I came for a holiday, loved it, and relocated in 2007.
CONFIDENT WOMAN – Jilly says, “I love red. I always feel like a million dollars when I wear the color red!”
RUFFLE IN THE SELEVE – Jilly immediately fell in love with this dress. “I just love the ruffle in the sleeves,” she says. You could wear this dress to work or to a wedding!
Q2. When did you decide to start your own business in communications?
After the birth of my children, I knew returning to a corporate environment was not the direction I wanted at that time. Flexibility was what needed I needed to be available to do school runs and be there when they woke up after naps.
I’m a naturally organized person, and many people need organization brought into their business practices. With Facebook, Twitter and blogging being the new form of communications to end-users, I thought social media would be a great environment to coordinate organizational strategies with companies.
STATEMENT BLUE – Jilly is pictured here in a beautiful royal blue top. “I love the color and the cut,” Jilly says. As a woman who is one the run with the kids but also needs to look presentable for her clients, she loves Anna Mora & Brunella for the quality of each individual piece!
Q3. What is your advice to other women who want to mix personal style with the reality of everyday living?
It’s easy. You just need to think about where to shop, purchase a few classic outfits, and then play around with your individual flare. It’s vital to buy good quality pieces that last.
With busy schedules, women want to own clothes that they can trust will always look as good on them as the last time they wore them! This is why quality is so important!
EYE-CATCHING GLAMOUR –– I love the way this jacket brings out the blue in Jilly’s eyes! Simply gorgeous!
FUN WITH FUR – Here is Jilly in one of Anna Mora’s winter jackets! It’s a fun and elegant jacket, perfect to throw over an evening dress or over a simple top and black pants.
Q4. Why do you think it is important for women, to feel good in what they wear?
I believe it’s extremely important to feel good in what you are wearing, all the way from your underwear to your outfit. When I have a great outfit on, it’s amazing how uplifted I feel that day.
I have a bounce in my step and feel like I can take on all the tasks that a mum and career woman can throw at me. It’s the outfit plus the fact that I took time to think about myself.
We love Jilly’s smile and wise words, and I am sure you do too!
I hope you enjoyed today’s post!
A Magical Spanish Night
14 Nov.2013. by Marta
A few days have passed since our big event. We can’t put into words our appreciation to all the affection we have received from the people who have attended, as well as many others who have written to support us. Heartfelt thanks.
We must begin by saying thank you to Dubaiytu for putting their trust into this event. Next we would like to thank our two big sponsors, Melia and Natura Bisse. We are proud of those two large Spanish firms of global presence, and are close to us.
Meliá is equivalent to being at home, which roots in our culture. It is a part of us and especially part of the history of Dubaiytu. The hotel is great with combining the magnificent city-view from the “Stars” terrace with the experience to enjoy some traditional spanish “tapas” with friends.
Not to forget about Signature, the most authentic Indian restaurant in Dubai, the wonderful spa, and the corporate rates from Dubaiytu.
Meliá was a big supporter of dubaiytu by offering nice notebooks and discount vouchers for the hotel to give you the chance to get to know the hotel.
Natura Bisse , the luxurious Catalan firm, has revolutionized the world of cosmetics with high quality products. They surprised the attendees during the day of the even by offering precious Natura Bisse products of high value. We have received a lot of questions about where the products and the location of the stores. We are glad that many people of both men and women tried the products building long-lasting customer loyalty.
On the other hand, Anna Mora & Brunella-Dubai sponsored the event byoffering the lucky winners of the raffle draw 200 AED cashback vouchers. Be sure to visit their store located at Sunset Mall if you haven’t already.
A quick glimpse of the event day…
The pleasant evening began with a wonderful golf tournament, with fully-driven players showing strong competition. The tournament ended with a win to a female player, Alicia Garriga, making us doubly happy. Jason Moore was the “Nearest the Pin” winner sponsored by Meliá Dubai. Apart from the tournament winner, Alicia Garriga was the winner of the “Longest Drive”. A true champion!
Jason Moore sponsored by Meliá Dubai
Alicia Garriga, the winning prize sponsored by Natura Bisse, certainly the big winner of the night!
We acknowledge the institutional support and unconditional loving words we were dedicated by the Ambassador of Spain, Jose Eugenio Salarich, as well as the Commercial Counselor Jaime Montalvo. Your presence was an honor to us that night as you supported our event.
Heartfelt thanks to Mario Nolla for his music, big heart and generosity. Together we can make the Maria Cristina Foundation overcome many of its challenges. A big thank you to Natalia Kostareva for her wonderful and memorable pictures, and to Omaima Selena who helped us in throughout the night.
Last but not least, thanks to all of you because we owe our success to each and every one of you. We are extremely happy with the success of the event, and we will continue working on improving every day as we move forward.
